A mainstay of the Cedar Point and Lake Erie RR for about 20 years, R. C. "Ike" Henry, Sr. was a B&O fireman on and off from the Depression era until the end of steam in Willard, OH. His retirement job was as a seasonal engineer on the CP&LE, where I met him in the late '70's as a new fireman. Great guy and a great teacher, with a lot of great stories. Lived to be 93! Seen here oiling around on CP&LE #5, formerly "Jack Foster", now (I think) #44 "Myron H.", a Vulcan. |
